I realized I hadn’t posted any reviews here at the blog for The Magic of Fiction, so here are snippets from a few reviews. Links to the full reviews are provided.
Beth Hill has taken the mystery of editing and writing and broken it down into digestible pieces.
I am telling you, this is good stuff.
I read straight through the book and actually enjoyed it. Beth Hill has an engaging style of writing and sharing her knowledge. This is a book every writer and editor should have at their fingertips.
I rate this 5 out of 5 stars! So informative and well written!—Word Refiner.

Simply put, if you are a new writer, an unpublished author, or an author with several books under your belt, you need this book. In a clear and comprehensive way, Beth has managed to simplify the process of fiction writing and self-editing as much as it CAN be simplified.—Newt Johnson (Amazon review)

This book is amazing. It’s clear and easy to read. There are so many examples. I already have post-its marking pages I refer to a lot.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough.—D (Amazon review)

I love the book, and have recommended it to several writers. I only get 15 minutes, or so, a day to read it, but it inpires me each time I do. The rest off my work time is spent writing and editing! As it should be.
Thanks, Beth.
Yes, indeed, Scott. The majority of your work time should be spent writing and editing. I hope you’re cruising right along with your current project.
Is there a Kindle edition of this book, or will one be released?
Bri, there won’t be a Kindle or other e-book version of TMoF. There are simply too many formatting needs that don’t translate well to reflowable e-books (at least at the current time). There is a PDF version, however. It’s the first edition; the print version is the second edition.
Thank you for replying Beth!
I’ve following your blog for over a year now, and have learned a lot. It is great to have the information in book form. Thank you! Thank you!
Verna, I’m happy to hear that you’ve been visiting the blog for a year and that you’ve found the book format a helpful one. Thank you so much for letting me know.
These reviews are well earned!
Our favorite book on writing, Beth Hill is awesome
Spray roses: Spray roses, which develop with a number of flowers on one branch, tend to provide smaller blossoms than long-stemmed rose varieties, which makes
them completely sized for a corsage. Send contemporary flowers to pals, family and liked ones.
I listen to a lot of podcasts, and my favorites (no
shock) are usually ones that speak about business, entrepreneurship,
science and self-improvement. Some designs are great for getting consideration online, while others
are those that really promote. La Perla lingerie remains one of the
best luxury brands for quality designs that are sexy and subtle.
I made this mistake when I assumed my designs must be ok to not need advertising.
It completely modified my thought course of. Take us by way of the process of designing, prototyping, and manufacturing your first product.
I constructed the business on Etsy first (nonetheless on there!) however I realized I needed another place to place all my lookbook pictures, announcements, somewhere to actually solidify the branding.
Whereas I sell both on Etsy and my very own webpage, Etsy still counts for about 40% of my overall income.
